Direct Primary Care (or DPC) is a membership-based healthcare model that allows us to put you, the patient, first. As a Direct Primary Care Provider, we do not bill insurance. This reduces the number of patients in our practice, which increases your access to us as your provider and also increases the time we are able to spend with you. Less red tape means decisions about your health and well-being can be made by you and your provider, without insurance dictating decisions.Unlike insurance, your DPC monthly membership covers unlimited office visits and all other covered services with zero co-pays or deductibles. For additional services that are not covered, we offer up front, transparent pricing. |
Our membership model eliminates the need for insurance plans that carry a high monthly premium. A monthly insurance premium is money you pay just to keep coverage available if you need it, but the premium does not go towards your deductibles, co-pays, or maximum out-of-pocket expenses. Those high premiums also do not guarantee that you will not still owe more money when seeking treatment, despite your coverage. With DPC, you have no co-pays, deductibles, or maximum out-of -pocket expenses to meet before you can go to the doctor without additional charges. In fact, you can come see us as often as you need to, period. |
Although we try to take care of most of your healthcare needs in our office, there are still situations that require the attention of a specialist. So in the event that you need additional care, we are able to send referrals to medical specialists. |
Many concerns can quickly and easily be diagnosed over the phone or via text messaging. So even without a Telehealth or in-person visit, we can typically still handle your specific needs, regardless of where you might be. |
Because of our DPC model, we do not participate in health insurance programs, which enables us to provide superior levels of care with minimal costs. |
Even with Direct Primary Care, we still encourage our patients to carry some health insurance to provide coverage for catastrophic illness or accident. But we also recommend medical plans with a high-deductible that include Health Savings Accounts (HSA), since these plans typically have lower monthly premiums, which ultimately keeps more money in your pocket. |
Depending on your specific Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) plan, you may be eligible for reimbursement. However, plans and rules vary widely, so please check with provider for specific details. |
Yes, having Medicare does not automatically bar your from participating. However, you will need to sign a one-time waiver declaring that you and your doctor will not bill Medicare directly for services provided by Carolina Medical Group. That way, you are still able to use your Medicare benefits to receive care outside of our practice. |
